The leipzig-jakarta list in a genetic classification on an example of the even language eastern dialect

DOI 10.51955/2312-1327_2021_2_36

Innokentiy N. Novgorodov

Abstract.Currently, the basic vocabulary is being discussed in order to establish a classification of the compared idioms, taking into account both the tree model (divergence) and the facts of borrowing languages (convergence) using not only comparative historical linguistics, but also population genetics. The purpose of the article is to establish the classification status of the eastern dialect of the Even language based on the study of the Leipzig-Jakarta list. Some linguists believe that the Even language originated from the Tungus intermediate proto-language, while others adhere to the position that Even arose on the basis of the Evenki language. On the basis of a comparative study of the list, it was established that the eastern dialect of the Even language 1) was formed from the Tungus-Manchu proto-language before the 3rd century AD. in places adjacent to the maritime region; 2) developed a) in the Tungus intermediate proto-language in places adjacent to the sea region from the west and north after the 5th century A.D., b) in the Evenki language in the Cirkumbaikal region in the 12th – 16th centuries A.D., c) in Yakutia after the 14th century, after the separation of the Even language from the Evenki language, moreover, active word formation processes are currently observed.

Key words: comparative studies, the Leipzig-Jakarta list, the Tungus-Manchu languages, an eastern dialect of the Even language.

The image of the man in the mirror of binomial anthroponyms (lingua-philosophical aspect)

DOI 10.51955/2312-1327_2021_2_138

Irina A. Nelaeva

Abstract. The article is devoted to linguophilosophical analysis of anthroponyms imitating binomial nomenclature and created according to Latin model “homo + adjective”. As our study has shown, in onomastics, Latin binomial anthroponyms are terra incognita, as they are not presented as a unified system. The reason lies in their dispersion in various fields of knowledge about man and their informative density. To solve this problem we have proposed a model based on three basic philosophical ideas about man (monism, dualism and trialism).

The analysis of the anthroponyms’ binominal names has shown, first, that each of them implicitly contains features of one of the three basic philosophical systems; second, their informative density has two levels – lexical, where their dictionary meaning is represented, and philosophical, where they are expressed as expressions of certain world-views about human essence; Thirdly, they have logical and methodological connection and continuity, forming a unified open system, which reflects traditional and innovative ideas about homo sapiens in all its diversity.

Keywords: binomial anthroponyms, binomial nomenclature, monism, dualism, trialism, unified open system of binomial anthroponyms.

Abstract. The article considers the importance of reading literacy as a part of lifelong learning. The significance of reading process in lifelong learning is recognized as a necessary factor for further development of human beings, which should be practiced and experienced throughout life. Moreover, the statement of lifelong learning in Kazakhstan is represented as an example, where reading literacy level and the reviews of international survey assessment should be taken into account. The measurement of reading literacy among Kazakhstani young adolescents demonstrated poor results, which may be considered as worrisome for further literacy development. As literacy level is a pivotal and beneficial issue in lifelong learning, a brief review of various life-learning strategies in well-developed countries represents that people of different ages may start learning process voluntary at any age of their adulthood.  The learning process is considered to be of high quality, it is in high demand and may be far from traditional education.  The analysis  of specific features in educational experience of well-developed countries contributes to the widespread use and implementation of lifelong education in the structure of education in Kazakhstan, which is represented in the form of a “mind map” framework as  a  way of promoting reading literacy level throughout life.

Abstract. The article discusses one of the methods of optimizing the transportation planning – a transport linear programming problem. The main methods for finding the reference plan for loaded riders and the optimal plan for solving it are listed. A formal mathematical model and a system of transport problem constraints are presented. A conceptual mathematical model is built on the basis of a formal mathematical model. An example of solving this problem is given: the reference plan of loaded riders was created with the use of the “north-west corner” method, the optimal plan for the return of empty vehicles with the use of the distribution method. Comparison of the results of application of methods for solving the transport problem of linear programming was carried out: comparison of the reference plans obtained with the use of the least-cost and north-west corner methods, comparison of the optimal plans for the return of empty cars obtained with the use of potential and distribution methods. Comparison criteria selected were the number of iterations, labor intensity, the result. Based on this, it was established that the obtained optimal plan for the return of empty cars is the same; according to other comparison criteria, there are a number of differences.

Keywords: linear programming transport problem, mathematical model, baseline plan, optimal plan, solution methods, north-west corner method, minimum-element (least-cost) method, distribution method, potential method.

Mental meaning in the semantic paradigm of the verb find

DOI 10.51955/2312-1327_2021_2_51

Tatiana I. Semenova

Anna A. Chapaykina

Abstract. The theoretical background of the research is a set of principles and assumptions of cognitive linguistics to the study of the meaning of a linguistic form in the context of other cognitive structures. The objectives of the paper is to consider semantic shifts of the verb find and reveal cognitive strategies of verbal semantic derivation. The research is based on the empirical data from available sources and corpora data. The study is conducted within the framework of cognitive semantics where language meaning is viewed as knowledge structure.

The paper considers the phenomenon of lexical polysemy from a cognitive perspective. Of particular concern is the issue of semantic extension of the polysemous verb find. The study brings into focus such parameters of the verbal meaning as taxonomic category of the verb and semantic roles of the participants. It is argued that the change of any parameter causes semantic shifts of the lexical meaning of the verb find.

The results obtained may be helpful for further study of productive semantic derivation processes in the framework of cognitive semantics.

Key words: conceptualization, language meaning, polysemy, semantic derivation, cognitive domain, mental state, evaluative statement.
